Marriage and Couple Counseling

“Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate." ~ Barnett Brickner

“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person." ~Mignon McLaughlin

Couples therapy begins with establishing rapport, hearing and understanding each individual, and devising a treatment plan together to address issues within the relationship, including infidelity. Every couple faces challenges that can threaten the strength of the relationship. Learning to communicate more effectively and developing a deeper emotional awareness of yourself and your partner can help turn periods of difficulty into times of growth. Therapy can be beneficial in developing new strengths, increasing intimacy, deepening connections, and working through the issues that cause difficulty in the relationship.

Premarital Counseling

The decision to get married is an important one. With an estimated 50% of marriages ending in divorce, it is important to take this decision seriously, and do what you can to give your marriage its best chance. Pre-marital counseling examines existing issues that may be present in the relationship, provides education on what factors contribute to successful marriages, and emphasizes skill development related to communication, resolving conflicts, and enhancing intimacy.
